Welcome to Our Diocese
As members of the Inclusive Catholic Diocese of the Chesapeake Bay we carry on the legacy of the church as expressed in the first seven councils of the ancient church. We maintain valid holy orders, believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharistic species, and uphold the seven sacraments. Our liturgical celebration is hybrid of the traditional Old/Roman Catholic Mass with some additions of Orthodox and Anglican/Episcopal rites.
Our Mission
Community Life
We are a welcoming and inclusive community of believers open to all people regardless of age, race, gender identity and expression, or sexual orientation. We continue a practice of open reception of Holy Communion, recognizing that the Eucharist is not a prize, but it is a medicine for the soul.
The Inclusive Catholic Diocese of the Chesapeake Bay was canonically erected on October 15, 2001 under our founding bishop, the Rt. Rev. Charles Braun.
